That was my wife's reaction when I told her I traced out the flight pattern that we most likely will take this weekend when I fly to India. If I'm correct, it takes us over some of the more . . . interesting places in the Middle East and Asia. Houston to Frankfurt is a no-brainer. From Frankfurt, we should fly over such exotic ports o' call as Turkey, Syria, Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, and Pakistan. Now I know we are in international airspace and will perfectly fine, but not much of a comfort to Anna until I get to Chennai and she hears from me. Add to that the fact that India is almost 12 hours ahead of Houston, and that makes it a long wait.
Which brings us to my prayer focus today: safety for our team. Pray for safe, uneventful flights to Chennai and on the way home as we stop-over in London. Pray for safety in Chennai for our team and in K-Kota where Steve Noris and I will be. Safety from harm, but also safety from fatigue, disease, sickness, pride, and attacks from the Enemy. Pray for peace of mind for our families and for them to feel God's goodness and presence during this time.

ReplyDeleteJJ, well I surely have been praying for those lessons, so I expect to hear great things for not only your focus and delivery, but from your audience. I am praying they right now, individually, anticipate to hear a Word from The Lord from you. As they are waiting, you are planning and studying, and you will find The Holy Spirit to be faithful in all things. So PASS IT ON. By God's grace, I will gain my first son-in-law next fall. Amy plans to marry her love who is in Iraq for his 3rd mission. So, since Iraq is 9 hours ahead of USA, according to your time explanation, when you are 3 hours from your destination, would you say a prayer for Gevan as you soar over Iraq...pray that even in Iraq he will sense the presence of our God in a powerful way...and anything else you can add. How cool will that be for me!! I have also been praying for your family. I have reminded Anna that my number is good to call in any way she or the kids might need Ron and me. I am available. Please know you and your team are lifted up during this adventure, and we are expecting a host of miracles to remind us that God is still in the business of relating to us and changing lives for His Glory. JJ- been praying for you. Specifically praying that God will slow down the hands on the clock so you can get done all that you need to, that you'll be able to prioritize and also let go of things that don't need doing right now. Also praying for your safety, and the team's. Praying for Anna's peace of mind- that God will give her the peace that passes understanding. What a blessing knowing you have a wife at home who will be diligently lifting you up to the Lord while you are gone.
